Brick, I didn't know Leisa but know that she was your love, your wife and will be terribly missed. My prayers for you and family, that God's presence be near you with comfort and peace, and care for you in your loss.

I’m so saddened to hear about you today, Leisa! I have such fond memories of being your neighbor. We were the creative kids without phones and social media! Made a gymnastics mat in the front yard with a big blanket, made the front porch the roller skating rink playing our 80’s music with our “jam boxes”, waited for our favorite songs to play so we could “tape them off the radio”, jumped on the trampoline and jumped off onto countless mesquite tree thorns, shooting hoops for hours, camped out on the trampoline and watched the stars, rode the donkeys, and watched Cujo,Purple Rain and Rick Springfield’s Hard to Hold most the summers (probably not age appropriate 🤦🏻‍♀️). I remember running home at night across the pasture as fast as I could and you would yell at me to watch out for Cujo (if you know, you know). I have not seen you in many years but I have always remembered and treasured the fun times growing up in the country together. May you Rest In Peace until we meet again. You were always such a loyal friend. Blessed to have known you! Praying fervently for your family.

My heartfelt prayers and condolences to the family of Leisa! Leisa started out as my manager, but we became sister/friends. For me she is the epitome of a friend that loveth at all times. She was always there to encourage, guide and support! Even when she was going through silently, she still showed concern and kindness to us all. My heart is so saddened. I am at a loss because she was always the wind beneath my wings! Love you Leisa! You are Forever My Girl! My Sweet Sister/Friend! <3 <3

Leisa where do I start except that you were the best friend anyone could have whether we needed you to just listen to our guy problems in school or help us with our homework that we didn’t understand you were always there. Girl we had a blast in basketball and riding the bus together we always sat with each other and laughed so much our stomachs hurt. I remember we always dropped you off at home after our late games so no one had to come get you and then we would call each other and talk for another hour or so about the game A lot of memories from a lady that left us way to soon but I will always remember that beautiful smile and soul that you had and I will see you soon but until then go rest high and enjoy eternal life and no more pain.

My heart is broken and my world crushed. I had so many amazing moments with my friend Leisa. She was a force to be reckoned with and was always there to do the right thing. We met at DARS in November of 2001. Kay and I thought she was a private school girl helping her mom out, at a meeting, in her little plaid skirt. Who knew she was old enough to be a counselor. Very soon after that we were working side by side together. She was an amazing lady and the kindest soul. Such a special person. She was honest, straight forward and had a wicked since of humor. Working right next to each other we had amazing talks and many "evil plans" spoken about as we waited for the jail cell door to open. All of course inside jokes from her quick wit and sometimes evil humor. Certainly an angel on earth. My life is better for having her in it. She made me a better person. She and I fought the good fight together at DARS. She was always there supporting the clients and staff. Always a shining star. My heart has a hole in it that can never be patched. A lovely and special light has left this earth but heaven has gained a beautiful soul.

Obituary

On Tuesday, August 23, Leisa Renee House, loving wife, sister, daughter, and friend passed away at the age of forty-eight.

She was an avid student and athlete at Blooming Grove High School, Blooming Grove, TX, where she was on the National Honor Society, JV and Varsity Basketball, and graduated Valedictorian in 1991.  She then went on to Navarro Junior College, Texas A&M University, and Texas Women’s University, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 1995 with a B.S. in Psychology.  In 2012 she completed her masters from the University of Kentucky, also Summa Cum Laude.

Leisa was a positive force.  She was supposed to interview for the Regional Director’s position on the day she passed away.  Two days prior, she was reviewing her interview note cards.  She always focused on the positive in all pursuits.  Leisa also had a love of Neil Diamond, true crime TV and was a collector of everything to do with Ernie from Sesame Street.  She loved dogs and had a great way with them.

Leisa was known for her quick-witted humor, fierce determination, and generous spirit. She is survived by her husband, Brick House, her sister Leslie Ruby, grandmother Marscine Ruby, mother Deborah Carmichael, father Ken Ruby, aunts, Cindy Raffetto, Cretia Drydale, Christine May, and uncle Kevin Ruby.  She was lucky to have many cousins and friends in her life.

In Lieu of Flowers

Leisa really loved dogs and would be happy to have you donate to your local SPCA in lieu of flowers.  To the left were her dogs Maxwell and Jasmine T. House
